Programme

The aims of LFLB have been transferred to the following programme:

Educational programme: kindergarten and after-school lessons for children up to the age of 16

This programme is known as the BSB-Programme. BSB is the abbreviation of Belajar Sambil Bermain:

learning while playing,

the core of our vision on learning: to learn is to understand and learning by understanding goes with experiencing, action, play. The rich BSB method is all about developing personal talents, adapt to one’s character, learning style and context, stimulating a creative and exploring mind and …. having fun! Good education goes with joy and happiness.

– Training programme for teachers: training on the job

Teachers work in a paid job and learn by practicing. They work tailor-made on their professional and personal development. They learn to master pedagogical and didactic skills, and how to develop lesson materials and broaden their general knowledge. In their next job, they can transfer their knowledge and skills to fellow teachers.

– Coaching – and participation programme for parents

Activities for and with parents are an essential part of the programme. Introductory meetings, theme-evenings about upbringing, public consultation evenings. Regular performances are organised for all parents and relatives as the closure of a project, with tea and coffee afterwards. Moreover, there are individual talks with parents. Through reports parents of toddlers get a picture of the lesson activities and get some suggestions to do at home.

Team

The team consists of fourteen passionate people, six women and eight men. For at least one shift a week teachers of the after-school programme work in the Kindergarten. That way they not only get to know the children and the methods but also each other. They learn from shared experiences.

The team members practice what they preach: they learn together with fun, they develop creative lesson materials, write textbooks, make short videos, think critically about current affairs, give each other feedback and work on their personal and professional development. They are positive about life, and they are aware of their talent and responsibility. See also the individual portraits of all team members in: Stories
